Let's Celebrate Galentine's Day

February is here and it’s time to celebrate your partner, your partner in crime that is, because we're talking Galentine's Day, ladies.

If unfamiliar with this most sacred of holidays, thank Amy Poehler’s Parks and Recreation character Leslie Knope: “Oh it’s only the best day of the year. Every February 13th, my lady friends and I leave our husbands and our boyfriends at home, and we just come and kick it, breakfast-style. Ladies celebrating ladies. It’s like Lilith Fair, minus the angst. Plus, frittatas.

Your girl squad deserves celebrating as much as any relationship. Friendships enrich your life, they make you a better person and scientific studies claim they benefit your health. These are facts you can remind your significant other of as you're getting dolled up for a night on the town. Because science.

Before you’re eye-rolling your way through the annual Valentine's Day social media blitz, blast some Beyoncé and partake in a girls’ day celebration. No matter your Feb. 14th plans, show some Galentine’s Day love to the ladies in your life who will be there for beach days, breakdowns, and everything in between!

Pick a weekend and lock your girls’ day in now! Need inspiration? We've got you covered.

MORNING:

Brunch
Dress up, bless up, and eat up. Throw on your best brunch attire, order whatever your heart desires and treat yo’ self. Brunch is the OG way to celebrate Galentine's Day. Sip on breakfast cocktails while exchanging laughs and stories at your favourite spot, or try somewhere new!

DAY:

Picnic
Everyone chip in and start planning right away to make it a picnic fit for a queen! Prep your baskets with sweet and savory favourites and plenty of libations to go around. Make it a proper event with the right decor, music and entertainment; pack your faves, and if you need help, we've got you covered. Check your weather apps and stake out a spot.

Get Active
What's more “strong, independent” woman than challenging yourself to a hike, or getting fit in sister solidarity.  It’s the perfect time for that fitness class you always say you’re going to do but never actually get around to (can relate), or try something new. For instance, get your active groove on, Feb.12th with Disco Yoga at Trapeze Bar. Stop by their glitter station, hit the Yoga-Disco floor and then grab a drink at the bar after.

Afternoon:

Tea Time
If you want to make brunch last all day long, attend afternoon tea. In the spirit of treating yourself, dress in your Sunday best and put your pinkies up. It’s the ultimate girls’ day out. Eat finger sandwiches, and drink from an incredible selection of Galentine’s libations, from teas to bubbly. And pretend that you do this, like, all the time.

High Notes
This Valentine’s Day season, the only tears rolling down your face will be tears of laughter. Make memories, and laugh the night away with your girls. Head to your nearest Karaoke bar and belt your hearts out. It's a fact that, after a few drinks, everyone is amazing at karaoke. Hit those high notes with your biggest fans cheering you on.

NIGHT:

Night on the Town

A girls’ night out of course! Get glammed up with your girl squad and head out for a night full of painting the town red. No matter your relationship status, or lack there of (no shame), dance the night away surrounded by your favourite ladies. Before you hit the clubs, All-Bar-One is having a Galentine’s Day week-long event, Feb. 8th-15th, including complimentary cocktails and bottles of wine.

Theatre Time
Load up on your best guilty pleasure snacks and head to your nearest cinema, soak in the girls’ day finale surrounded by film, food and friends. Take your pick of the girls’ night movie selection and don’t forget the popcorn! Or make it a real night at the theatre. This Galentine’s Day season, London is positively booming with plays and musicals that will be the highlight of your girls night.

Keep It Simple
Don't forget, it's your day too, so don't stress the details. Grab your girls. Grab a mimosa (grab two). Galentine's Day comes but once a year!

Cheers!
